11/1/2023 0 Comments The red prayer book pdf![]() This paper provides a concise historical background to the history of the Book of Common Prayer in Portuguese, and in Brazil. ![]() In this essay, I intend to draw attention to some features present in this prayer book which I understand signalize a fourth generation of prayer book revisions, beyond materials that came directly out of the process of prayer book revision immediately after the advent of the Liturgical Movement. This is the newest Book of Common Prayer released by an Anglican province. It replaced another prayer book, published in 1984, and has incorporated a series of elements that flow out of both the liturgical renewal movement and its post-nineties ecumenical developments in Latin America and throughout the Anglican Communion. Two years ago the Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil (IEAB) released the latest Book of Common Prayer among Anglican provinces.
